Local guide “Ty The Fungi” will lead participants into our bioregion and teach basic ecology for how to safely and correctly find local wild flora and fungi. Includes lessons in proper harvesting techniques, foraging etiquette and stewardship of the natural world. While finding wild food is the highlight, guests should be prepared to learn that foraging doesn’t always yield an impressive harvest. The expectation should be as much about the experience and education of the natural world as it is about finding and harvesting its bounty. The process should be emphasized as much as the outcome. Note: Steep sections may be challenging for those with mobility issues.
